A free telephone informal initial consultation is always offered to discuss your concerns and queries.

Assessment

• Thorough assessment can take between 60-90mins, if more is needed explanation is given and you will be informed prior to any commitment
• Both standardised and non-standardised methods used
• Detailed report included in the fee for assessment which includes recommendations and objectives for therapy or home programme.

Once your child has been assessed, we can discuss whether he or she would benefit from intervention. Therapy sessions can be offered on a flexible basis, weekly or monthly or another pattern, depending on your child's needs and your availability. Another option is nursery or home programmes which would not require the weekly commitment to sessions.

In order for your child to make progress from intervention, it is really important that one of the parents, or a member of school or nursery staff, are able to carry out activities in between each session.

This is often something you may already do but with some extra ideas to support your child's development.

The key to therapy sessions are that they are:

• Fun, motivating and effective sessions that last roughly between 45 minute to 1 hour, this includes the planning, session and record keeping
• Specific to individual's needs
• Flexible
